Well, renewable energy – Solar arrives at Bluepoint
We are thrilled to announce that work has started, installing solar panels at our factory here in Totnes. Over the next two weeks, solar panels will be added across the factory roof; once operational, these will generate up to a whopping 37kW of power.
Industrial label manufacturing is a surprisingly energy intensive process, involving a lot of moving machinery, pressure and controlled air movement. When looking at ways to minimise our environmental impact, energy consumption has been a key focus for us.
It's therefore exciting to say that a significant percentage of our industrial tags and labels will soon be manufactured directly with Devon sunshine! This will generate annual CO2 emission savings well over 7 tonnes!
We've also been able to reduce our energy usage by investing in more energy efficient machinery and installing the latest LED lighting technology throughout the factory.
And the best bit, not only will our labels and tags now be a little more environmentally friendly, our manufacturing will be less susceptible to rising global energy costs, ensuring our customers continue to benefit from the most competitive rates available.
